Education is central to our business of
promoting responsible development. Our principal concerns are with issues of
quality, access and equality of opportunity in educational provision.
We work in formal and non-formal education at daycare, nursery, primary,
secondary and tertiary levels and also in adult education including literacy:
-
Pursuing policy reforms to ensure that educational
provision is responsive to needs of people, with increasing emphasis on
meeting the needs of women and children including especially girls and the
disabled in urban and rural areas.
-
Working with teachers to promote, establish and operate
libraries/learning resource centers within their schools and community
establishments.
-
Developing learning/teaching resources in both
traditional and non-traditional subject areas including entrepreneurship
development.
-
Supporting efforts of individuals, communities and
organizations to galvanize efforts locally and internationally towards
increasing education levels in society.
-
Reaching out to a wider audience through exhibitions
including radio-television programme production and broadcasting.
