How we work EITD Research operates with the support of a wide range of foundations, governmental and inter-governmental institutions, private corporations and concerned individuals. These include ministries, universities and other research and policy institutions, professional associations and non-governmental organizations. They furnish EITD Research with vital expertise in various fields in which our own capacities may be limited. Several partnerships have resulted from networks formed with local, national and international partners. We employ a variety of approaches in research, under two broad paradigm categories - the rationalistic and naturalistic categories. Different projects make exclusive or complementary use of these research strategy categories. We place strong emphasis on the participation of beneficiaries (target groups) in project design and implementation. We also pursue strategy and policy recommendations from research with field services and technical support, placing pointed emphasis on top standards of quality and expertise, in accordance with our mission. The work is done by highly qualified and experienced professionals in multiple disciplines. The people are further supported by our catalogued library of over 4000 different specialist reference texts, selected papers, pamphlets and professional journals. In addition, there are four small laboratories: biochemistry, electro-mechanics, information communications technologies and audiovisuals, plus, field engineering equipment, secretarial and data processing facilities. Locally and nationally, we operate to the demand for professional expertise, assisting individuals, groups, organizations and businesses. These include schools, youth and community groups, non-governmental organizations, business associations, legislative assemblies and government institutions.. Internationally, we undertake a range of assignments including feasibility studies, market research, news updates, project evaluations and training. We also publish a variety of documents on a regular basis.
