Access to formal education remains restricted in many areas of Cameroon and sub-Saharan Africa, and not much attention is paid to content and quality especially with regard to relevance, enrichment and equality. The mark of achievement appears increasingly to be in numbers, the creation (opening) of new schools/colleges/universities with or without teachers, classrooms, playgrounds and other learning and teaching aids. Corruption, mismanagement and apparent lack of finance are other well known features of the troubled education systems. Our Schools Projects and Adult Literacy Programme helps individuals, communities and businesses to organize themselves to meet community or quarter education needs more effectively. It:
